Botanical Name: Citharexylum spinosum   

Description (growth habits, light requirements & care): A medium-sized, evergreen tree or shrub reaching 12-25 feet tall by 12 feet wide. Prefers full sun to partial shade and sandy, well-drained soils.  

How you can help by planting this: Provides nectar for pollinators and the berries for birds and supporting native wildlife. Larval host for Fiddlewood Leaf-Roller Moth.

Flower and Fruit (color, characteristics, season): Clusters of small, fragrant white flowers bloom in spring and summer, followed by orange to black berries.  

Pairs well with: Locustberry, Simpson Stopper, and Florida Privet for a diverse landscape.
