Description (growth habits, light requirements & care): A dense, evergreen shrub reaching 3-6 feet tall. Prefers full sun to partial shade and moist, well-drained soils, especially in wetland or coastal environments.  

How you can help by planting this: Provides berries for birds, including migratory species, and supports wetland ecosystems.  

Flower and Fruit (color, characteristics, season): Small, white flowers bloom in spring, followed by black berries in late summer to fall.  

Pairs well with: Dahoon Holly, Florida Thatch Palm, and Swamp Milkweed for wetland and wildlife habitats.
